Shopify QR Code Generator

- Enter the target address in the Shopify URL field – for example your store, a product page, or a collection. The
https://protocol is added automatically, so you can simply typeyour-store.myshopify.com/products/product. - Choose the Pattern of the code dots (from „Square“ to „Classy rounded“) and the shape of the Corners (square, dot, or extra rounded). Both are purely cosmetic and don’t change the content of the code.
- Set the Size: 256, 512, or 1024 pixels. It determines the resolution of the downloaded file.
- Adjust the Code color, Corner color, and Background to your branding. Via the Transparent checkbox you remove the background completely – handy when the code ends up on colored material.
- If needed, upload an image under Logo (optional); it appears in the center and can be removed again via „Remove“.
- Download the finished code via Download as PNG or As SVG under the file name
shopify-qr-code.
How to read the preview and notices
The preview updates instantly with every input. In the tool it is always displayed 192 px wide – that is just the view; the download keeps the pixel size you selected. Below it is the normalized URL: exactly this address is stored in the code, so check it for typos before downloading.
If the red notice „Please enter a valid URL“ appears below the URL field, the address is not recognizable as a URL – and no QR code is generated either. An empty field hides the preview and the notice completely.
What the settings do in the code
Pattern, corner shape, and colors only change the look of the pattern; the encoded address stays identical. As soon as you upload a logo, the generator automatically switches to a higher error correction (level H): the code then tolerates larger covered or damaged areas, which is what makes placing a logo in the center possible in the first place. Without a logo the tool works with level M – the usual standard.
Practical tips for QR codes in everyday store use
Keep the target URL as short as possible: the fewer characters, the simpler the dot pattern, and the faster and more reliably the code can be scanned. For campaigns, also use dedicated URLs with UTM parameters (e.g. ?utm_source=flyer&utm_medium=qr) and create a separate code per placement – that way your analytics show which flyer or package insert actually brings visitors.
Never place the code on its own: a short call-to-action right next to it („Scan and save 10 %“) increases the scan rate significantly, because customers want to know what to expect before scanning. Also link to a page that truly works on a smartphone – scans happen almost always on mobile.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I create a QR code for my Shopify store?
- Simply enter the URL of your store, a product page, or a collection in the generator above. Then choose colors, pattern, and optionally your logo, and download the finished code as PNG or SVG. No sign-up is needed.
- Is this QR code generator for Shopify free?
- Yes, the generator is completely free and you can create as many QR codes as you like. There are no hidden costs, no subscription, and no expiry date – the generated codes work permanently.
- How big does a QR code need to be for print at minimum?
- As a rule of thumb, the minimum size is 2 x 2 cm, and 3 cm or more for greater scan distances. A high contrast between the pattern and background and a clear margin around the code are also important. For print, the SVG download is recommended because the format scales without loss.
- What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
- Static QR codes contain the target URL fixed in the code and work forever without a third party. Dynamic codes run through a service that can change the URL later and provides scan statistics, but makes all printed codes useless if you cancel. This generator creates static codes.
- Can I add my logo to the QR code?
- Yes, you can place your logo directly in the center of the code and it is automatically embedded in a way that keeps the code scannable. Still test the result with several phones before printing, especially with dark colors or large logos.
